When establishing your family's emergency plans, don't forget about the needs of your pets. In the event of a natural disaster, or other emergency, your pets will rely on your preparation to help keep them calm and safe, and to provide for their needs. Here are some excellent resources to help you be better prepared for a catastrophe.

Our clinic does not endorse one insurance over another. However, here are a few things to consider when choosing a pet insurance plan.
- Be sure to understand what the policy covers
- Does it cover preventative care such as vaccines? Or are there additional charges for this service?
- Understand the exclusions. Most policies will exclude pre-existing conditions, and possible hereditary conditions unique to certain breeds.
- Understand what deductibles and co-pays are required.
- Ask if you will be able to choose your own veterinarian or whether you must go to a participating veterinarian.
